BIO

Margaret Rose Edinburgh (she/her) is the Founder + CEO of the Yellow Rose Strong-Oak Society. Margaret is a TimeSlips Certified Facilitator of Storytelling for those in memory care. Born with a double dose of benevolence in her DNA, she has always been an empathetic, compassionate, and kind woman. She has always included children as recipients of her various gifts and talents but, in this instance, she has given more attention to the elderly. During the COVID-19 Pandemic a lot of the elderly were isolated, lonely, and subjected to depression. As a result of her work with The Yellow Rose-Strong Oak Society, Inc, Edinburgh, who for almost 20 years, has dedicated her efforts to facilitating over 100 card campaigns for seniors 80 and above, has gathered over 1000 cards and counting to date.

Being a viral learner, Margaret earned her B.A. degree from Indiana State University. She is an award winning cloth doll maker, creator of The Order of Nzingah Doll Collection™; a Distinguished Toastmaster; graduate of the former Birmingham Alabama Clown School and member of the former Corn Cobb Clowns; a storyteller and Facilitator of the Cobb County Storyteller; an active member of the Cobb Collaborative; and a graduate of the Jeff Justice Stand Up Comedy Class.

Margaret is a retired Administrator from International Business Machine, after more than 28 years. She enjoys volunteering, learning, and spending time with her daughter, “Tom,” family and friends. Her interests include reading, writing, traveling, leading The Senior Citizens Hall of Fame and sharing her talents. Aside from her various memberships and awards, Margaret is an active member of Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlanta, Georgia and she prays that God will allow us to continue adding to our personal garden of Yellow Rose-Strong Oak Society Belles + Gents.
